Well, Let me tell you folks Recorded Future will be the key players soon in intelligence arena. İt does provide combination of search and future prediction. Person behind the company also comes from business intelligence arena. After they sold spotfire which was dealing with structure data, recorded future now deals with unstructure data. İ had a nice Skype conversation with business development lead Antonia. She gave details information about company direction and technology behind it . Not to mention the fact that RF is used mainly government agengies , financial groups and anyone interested in search based intelligence technology. Unfortunately, main technology works with English now and they work on Chinesee followed by some arabic languages. Although i need to wait sometime for Turkish, i will keep my eye on them closely and advise to the market that is satisfied to use in English,
Really like the idea for business usage or whatever you expect from it competition, awareness, reputation, markey knowledge etc..

Not to mention the fact that, impacts of social media  increase rapidly, despite there are some confusion to measure and concrete results. However, it is clear and obvious that companies that benefit from obtain strong competitive advantage. Surely, this job much more serious than what people think about Social Media. There are many biast against Business Social Media in our local market (Turkey). Anyhow, this is a nice blog post and depiction for ROI. At least, it is good summary for me for later needs. Whatever you do in your business, you need  to create good reputation and loyalty with social media. ,Listen them, take action and turn into money and loyalty with satisfaction.

MDM before front end fun

Do not worry i will not write about Academic MDM journal as this is not my job. Nevertheless, what i would like to mention is that MDM has becoming more and mire need in the market ; unfortunately, business do not know the real requirements due to technical needs but İT also exaggrates the facts because of fear extensive MDM needs ,plus politics etc.

As we all Bİ professionals have been saying buzz sentences" single version of truth" with mainly focusing on tool sites, uniqueness need from data perspectives are still inevitably key factor for ultimate success of the project. Business still suffers from almost similiar needs, as they have only relatively satisfied by better query performance ,flashy screens or more user friendly usage ( none of them are still fully appreciated) . Data quality which is a part of MDM or information management policy keeps its importance while single version of Master Data is still not being managed by business. Many of you can argue with several academic words; but at the end of the day, we need get this issue done within simpliest way, less effort and by mainly business.

The reason why i have written this unnecesary paragraph(:)) is that i still see hunger from business almost with same needs after 10-12 years. Yes, technology improves rapidly but dou you think that all of this is in favor of business user? MDM, Data Governance, quality, metadata blsh blah...simple need by business" there should be simple screen that i can manage my master data as business user with easy flow charting" in fact after seeing very complex excel files generated by business, believe these guys can use all visual screens. The only they need is somebody must listen them :)

Impartial Business Party

  Hi, I have not been aroud for sometime due to  some personel changes , as some of you may call radical though. Actually, I will be elaborating these details later on with necessary lessons that we all should re-think about. I just would like to mention couple things with this post in order to underline one of my observations.

I have been in IT arena since 1995 . I did have several opportunities to meet many people, executives, consultants locally or internationally from many companies-big to small-. There is a fact that global or local vendors provide their best technology solutions for their market;nevertheless, these technologies are not enough for stand alone solution most of the time, as they surely need several components from other solutions. At least, they require strong knowledge,service-consultancy. Sometimes, you need to gather 3-4 different companies at the same table to solve customer problem. Unfortunately, there is a missing part in this communication, since there is  need for impartial party who will be managing all parties without biast :) , who will create common trust and will not let people's egos' or other wrong approaches. Surely, this is very hard from several point. Firstly , why someone who will not benefit from this communication should do this ? Secondly, how do other parties trust this party ?  In most of the cases, one bigger party, SIs try to do this. I believe that there is need for this mechanism:) Donot ask me who, how etc. I have my own ideas.. we will see. Doubtless, it requires credibility, years in the market, respect, knowledge..you know "Food for Thought"
why I have written this, since I have been doing some impartial such activities for sometime without any expectation and cleary see progress:). The issue is that we need  to find out modest commercial mechanism for this parties. Mine is just experimental..:)

Mobile BI and Apps

Well, this is s perfect depiction of mobile world’s affect on application world.  Although applications have become very popular with iphone, business has embraced them strongly. That is what QlikView brought in BI arena. Yes, QlikTech came up good patentent technology with association;nevertheless, I believe that one of the most strongest point of QlikView in BI is vertical or functional business applications. That is why QlikTech now has been motivating its community to go verticals. Real value is there regardless of performance and others but in evitably simplicity surely. It is not directly related to BI but mobile and BI are converging a lot . We will not be using PC or laptop soon..:) So  it is %100 relationship.  Many people are trying to come up iphone apps,what I call is “technology satisfaction” J, but train has already launched. Come up with new ideas!!!!!  Big vendors see apps arena and come strongly. I am sure there will be big changes..

It is a great article to summarize what MS SP provides for Collaboration + other applications point of you when the focus is social capabilities..We may challenge it since who provides the all!. While Social Apps. Providers satisfy the leads with all social capabilities, they lack of other functionalities. The final point comes to the point that Best of Breed WinsJ or single vendor approach for price/cost performance. I have mt personal feedback, later!:) Cheers,

We were BI sponsor of the BT Platform Finance and Banking Event. Anadolu Insurance has presented our QlikViev project. It was lovely and it received so much attention. In fact, I have been told that many people  just came to listen Anadolu Insurance case-study of QlikView. Thanks to Mrs. Deren Koçdemir, she did very good job, although she is not used to do such presentation in such public environment.

Me? I did “acting” in the panel for two questions J. Thankfully, SAS was with us so that I was not alone as BI vendor.  Honesty , unless it is dedicated BI panel ;I donot believe such panels, as people are bored. You have couple minutes to answer the question that requies quite time. Anyhow, our relationship with them  is historical sponsorship for us, because Interpro is on of the independent media organizations. Since we have been working together for a long time, we would like to support them, as they did to us too in years.
